We've had many great learning moments in the last few days! I went through my camera roll on my iPad and had so many of those moments captured. I wanted to take some time to share them with you!
In math, we have been learning about money. We now know about the penny, the nickel, and the dime. The students have been exploring the values of these coins by playing exchange games. One student acts as the banker and the other student acts as a customer. The customer hands the banker a few nickels or dimes and the banker has to give the customer the correct number of pennies. The students have really enjoyed playing these games!

On Tuesday of last week, we had the opportunity to share our sea animal books with the fourth graders! I think this was fun for both the bigs and the littles! The smiles on everyone's faces said it all. I loved giving the students a chance to show off their hard work by reading their published books to older students!
Yesterday, we learned about diurnal and nocturnal animals. We watched a fun video that explained the differences. Then, we tested our knowledge of diurnal and nocturnal animals by sorting pictures. To check to see if they were right, the students scanned a QR code using my iPad which pulled up a picture of the right answers. The students had so much fun with this! I loved how independent they were with this activity. They completed the sort by themselves and then checked it by themselves. It was a great experience!
