In celebration of International Dot Day, we took our learning outside of the US! This afternoon, we had the amazing opportunity to do a Google Hangout with Ms Wells-Taylor's first grade classroom in Canada. We began our time together by asking each other questions about what life is like in our different countries and schools. Many of us were surprised by how similar our two lifestyles are. After all of our questions had been answered, we had a chance to share our plans for making our mark on the world. Again, we were surprised when we heard similar answers from our Canadian friends.
Here's what the kiddos had to say about Canada afterwards:
Hannah - It was cool that we connected from Canada to Osage.
Parker - They get a lot more snow than us.
Tysen - They get snowstorms.
Alex - There are moose in Canada.
Tucker - They have monkey bars on their playground.
Anna - They go outside for recess.
Addison - They learn about books in school.
Donald - Some of them had the same ideas as us about how to make marks on the world.
Matthew - They have swings on their playground too.
Tessa - They eat the same things as us.
Kaylie - They learn about books.
Kara - They go to music.
Sage - They go to the gym for fun.
Jada - They ate sandwiches like we ate.
Gabe -
Jalena - They drink juice boxes.
Connor - They get a lot more snow than us.
Our virtual trip to Canada was eye opening in so many ways, and I'm thankful we had a chance to visit! I love that our classroom does not have to only exist within its four walls - we can go anywhere and learn anything!
